Supporting Education and Promoting Financial Literacy
Amegy focuses on contributing to education in Texas classrooms through financial literacy programs, like Amegy’s Bank at School program and other initiatives. In 2006 the highest percentage of Amegy’s corporate donations were designated towards our various efforts to support education. (35% of total giving in 2006 to education)

Amegy was named “Outstanding Community Partner for the East Region” in 2006 by Houston Independent School District Volunteers in Public Schools.
The Texas Association of Partners in Education recognized Amegy Bank with the Crystal Award for Texas Medium Business Partnership in a Large School District.
The Cy-Fair Independent School District awarded Amegy the Business Partner of the Year recognition for 2006.
Amegy presented Teaching Excellence Award donations of $1,000 to 31 teachers in the Baytown area in 2006.
