As Amegy celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, I can’t help but reminisce back when I joined Amegy Bank in 1992. At that time, I was drawn to the bank for the entrepreneurial spirit that permeated the organization. I admired Walter Johnson and the bank’s leadership for wanting to be a different kind of banking institution. But most of all, I appreciated its dedication to do the very best job it could for its customers.

More than 17 years later, those same reasons why I came to Amegy Bank remain true today. This time, you don’t have to just take my word for it. Greenwich Associates, one of the most respected financial services research firms, recently awarded Amegy Bank/Zions Bancorporation recognition in 17 different award categories, many of them recognizing the bank for those attributes that I already mentioned.

What’s perhaps most humbling about these awards is that the results weren’t based on bank data…the awards were given following Greenwich interviewing 17,000 business banking executives and 13,000 middle market executives to evaluate 750 banks nationwide. That means it’s because of YOU that we received this recognition, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
