What is Amegy Mobile Banking?

Amegy Mobile banking gives you access to your eligible Amegy Bank account(s) from your mobile phone or device. Depending on your preference and your mobile phone or device capabilities, Amegy Mobile Banking will allow you to: 

  • View account balances
  • Search recent account activity
  • Transfer funds.

What is the difference between a mobile Web browser and a mobile application?

With mobile Web browser, you use your mobile phone or device Web browser like a laptop’s web browser to access your Amegy Bank account information. Mobile applications can be downloaded to your mobile phone or device and provide a unique experience designed for the iPhone® and iPod® Touch, Android™, and Blackberry®.

Which wireless carriers are currently supported?

We support the major US wireless phone carriers, including AT&T™, Sprint™, T-Mobile®, and Verizon®. You will see the full current list of supported carriers online when you enroll. If your carrier is not listed when you enroll, you can select 'Other' and try the mobile web option. Or, you can check back later, as new carriers will be added over time.

Do I need a data plan?

A data plan is strongly recommended because data usage charges by your carrier can become expensive without such a plan. Please check with your wireless carrier for more information.

How much does Amegy Mobile Banking service cost?

There is currently no charge for the Amegy Mobile Banking service. However, ordinary bank fees under other agreements still apply (e.g., if your funds transfer results in an overdraft in your account.) Also, your wireless phone carrier may impose data or messaging charges. Check with your wireless phone carrier for more information.

How do I sign up for Amegy Mobile Banking?

In order to sign up for Amegy Mobile Banking you will first need to:

  1. Login to online banking
  2. Select the services main page
  3. Select “mobile banking”
  4. Enroll in Amegy Mobile Banking

An activation code and instructions to access Amegy Mobile Banking will appear when you finish the enrollment process. If you have any questions, please contact an Amegy Bank customer service representative at 1-888-500-2960.

Must I activate each mobile phone or device I wish to use with Amegy Mobile Banking?

Activation is a one-time process for each mobile phone or device you wish to use with Amegy Mobile Banking. An activation code is issued to you on the Amegy Mobile Banking enrollment website once you have completed the enrollment process. We recommend you print your activation code and installation instructions for easy reference during installation.

What if I suspect that my mobile device may have been used to make an unauthorized transfer from my Amegy Bank account?

Immediately call Amegy Bank customer service at 1-888-500-2960 to report the transfer as soon as you discover or suspect it. The agreements and rules that govern suspected or actual unauthorized transfers through online banking via use of a computer (such as deadlines to report unauthorized transactions) also apply to transfers made through Amegy Mobile Banking via use of a mobile phone or device. Please see your online banking agreement, your deposit account agreement, and your account statements for further information. See also any agreements governing the specific affected account (e.g., credit card agreement). Where applicable, those documents include information regarding special rights of consumers in cases of unauthorized transfers from consumer deposit accounts under Regulation E and/or consumer credit accounts under Regulation Z.

What is Mobile Web?

Mobile Web lets you visit m.amegybank.com, Amegy Bank’s site for accessing your accounts from a mobile phone or device’s web browser. With mobile web you can sign in to m.amegybank.com and:

  • View account balances
  • Search recent account activity
  • Transfer funds.

What is the cost of Mobile Web?

There is no charge by Amegy Bank for using mobile web. You should contact your mobile services provider for any charge that may apply to Web browser usage on your mobile phone or device.

How do I access Amegy Mobile Banking on my mobile phone or device browser?

Enter m.amegybank.com, into your mobile phone or device Web browser to get started.

How do I optimize my mobile web experience?

We recommend 3 steps for an optimal experience:

  1. Ensure your mobile phone or device browser has cookies enabled.
  2. Enable style sheets on your browser. Style sheets are used on Web pages to define the design and layout of the page.
  3. Bookmark Amegy Mobile Banking web site.

Generally, these settings can be found in your mobile phone or device Web browser settings menu. Refer to your mobile phone or device’s user guide for additional details and information.

Is Mobile Web banking supported on my mobile phone or device?

Mobile Web banking is available on most mobile phone or device Web browsers that support cookies.

How do I add an Amegy Bank Web Clip icon to the Home screen of my iPhone?

To add the Amegy Bank Web Clip icon to the Home screen of your iPhone:

  • Upgrade to the latest version of the iPhone software (available through iTunes).
  • Visit m.amegybank.com through your iPhone browser, touch the "+" symbol and select the option for Add to Home Screen.

What are mobile applications and how do they differ from mobile web?

With mobile Web, you use your mobile phone or device’s web browser (like your laptop browser) to access your Amegy Bank account information. Mobile applications, on the other hand, can be downloaded directly to your mobile phone or device and provide a unique experience designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Android, and Blackberry.

How do I download the mobile application for iPhone?

The iPhone application is available through the iTunes® App Store, where you can download it for free.

How do I download the mobile application for a Google Android phone?

Download the free Android application through the Android Market from your mobile phone or device.

How do I download the mobile application for BlackBerry?

Enter the mobile web URL m.amegybank.com in your phone or devices browser. If a downloadable application is supported on your mobile phone a link to download the application will appear.

Is mobile banking via downloadable mobile application supported on my mobile phone or device?

The mobile application is available for many mobile phones or devices including: iPhone and iPod Touch, Android, and Blackberry. Enter the mobile web URL m.amegybank.com in your mobile phone or device’s web browser. If a downloadable application is supported for your mobile phone or device, a link to download the application will appear.

Troubleshooting

I received an activation code but never used it. What do I do now?

Activation codes expire after a specific period of time (usually 24 hours). If you need a new one, return to the Mobile Banking enrollment website and request a new activation code.

What happens if I get a new mobile phone or device?

If you get a new mobile phone or device, be sure to return to online banking and update your mobile phone or device profile in the Mobile Banking enrollment website. We recommend removing your old mobile phone or device and re-enrolling your new mobile phone or device.

What happens if I change mobile phone numbers?

If you change mobile phone numbers, be sure to return to online banking and update your mobile phone or device profile in the Mobile Banking enrollment website. We recommend removing your old mobile phone or device and re-enrolling your new mobile phone or device.

What happens if I change mobile phone carriers?

Can I use both mobile web and a downloadable application on the same mobile phone or device?

Yes.

I activated mobile banking on my mobile phone or device’s browser. Why am I being asked to activate again?

At the time of activation a "cookie" is stored on your mobile phone or device’s browser which allows the Amegy Mobile Banking system to remember that you activated. The cookie is only visible by the Amegy Mobile Banking system and does not contain personal information. Some mobile phones or devices may require you to enable cookies or periodically erase them, requiring reactivation. If you are experiencing this issue, check your mobile phone or device settings to ensure that cookies are enabled. If cookies are enabled and the issue persists, please contact your mobile network carrier for cookie support information on your mobile phone or device.

What if my mobile phone or device is lost or stolen?

If you are concerned about misuse of your mobile phone or device, contact your mobile service provider immediately to stop all wireless service. Additionally, go online to the Amegy Bank mobile banking enrollment website and disable or remove your mobile phone or device (for additional assistance contact Amegy Bank customer service representative at 1-888-500-2960.). If you later find your mobile phone, you can re-enroll that same mobile number.

How do I delete the Amegy Mobile Banking application from my mobile phone or device?

Subject to changes in specification by your mobile phone or device’s manufacturer, the following procedures should delete the mobile application from your mobile phone or device. If you experience difficulty, contact your mobile phone or device manufacturer or an authorized dealer:

Blackberry:

  1. On your Blackberry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications.
  2. Scroll through the list and highlight the one you want to remove. Click on it, choose Delete.
  3. It will ask you if you are sure, choose Delete. It may ask you to reset your mobile phone or device after removing the program

Android

  1. Open the Google Android Menu.
  2. Go to the Settings icon and select Applications.
  3. Next, click on Manage.
  4. You will be presented with a list of applications you have installed.
  5. Select the application you want to uninstall, and click the Uninstall button.

iPhone

  1. Press and hold on any icon until all the icons begin to “wiggle.”
  2. Tap the little “x” in the upper-left corner of the app you want to delete. A dialog box appears, informing you that deleting this app will also delete all its data.
  3. Tap the Delete button.
