Debit and Credit Card Breach

at The Home Depot® Stores

The home improvement retailer Home Depot, Inc. has acknowledged that a payment data system breach occurred at its U.S. and Canadian stores as early as April 2014. 

Due to the Home Depot data breach, we are issuing replacement credit or debit cards to those customers whose cards were used at a Home Depot store during the period of the breach. We will soon be sending additional information about our card replacement program to all customers who may have been affected by the breach, so please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date by calling our Customer Contact Center toll-free at 800-287-0301 or by accessing your Online Banking account.

To update your contact information via Online Banking:

  1. Log in to your Online Banking account

  2. Select Preferences

  3. Select Address/Email Preferences

  4. Click on either the “change email” and/or the “change address/phone”

 Important Information

  • Monitor activity in all your credit and debit card accounts, not just those you have with Amegy Bank.

  • You can easily view the transactions in your Amegy Bank accounts through Online Banking. Report suspicious activity that you find by calling the number on the back of your card.

  • If you’re traveling, please call our Customer Contact Center at 800-287-0301 before leaving town so your transactions aren’t suspected of being fraudulent and denied.

  • Deposit account numbers weren’t part of the Home Depot breach, so you can safely use paper checks and acquire counter checks, if needed, at your local Financial Center.

Additional Fraud Prevention Services and Tips

  • Amegy Bank offers Mobile Card Fraud Alert Service1 that automatically alerts you to potentially fraudulent transactions, so you can react quickly to suspicious activity in your account. Enrollment is available online.

  • As an Amegy Bank Visa® debit or credit card holder, you may enroll in Purchase Alerts2 to receive one-way text notifications on certain purchases. Enroll by logging in to Online Banking, navigating to the “Services” tab, and selecting “Purchase Alerts.”

  • Amegy Bank offers an online security center with additional suggestions for guarding against fraudulent transactions on your account(s).

  • Cases of identity theft should be reported to law enforcement or the Federal Trade Commission at www.consumer.gov/idtheft or 877-IDTHEFT (438-4338).
  • Review your credit reports regularly by visiting annualcreditreport.com.
