  • Available from hundreds of companies, including major utilities and retailers.
  • Sign up for select merchants directly within Bill Pay.
  • There may be overlap between sign-up for eBills and the time the merchant stops mailing paper statements. However, you will only receive that merchant’s statements through eBill after signing up. (Contact the merchant to discontinue paper statements and request electronic-only billing)
  • Merchants offering eBills appear in the Payment Center with a “Get eBill” icon to the side of the biller’s name. Pay the bill by clicking on the icon and following the on-screen instructions. Instruct Bill Pay to pay that particular eBill or automatically pay all future eBills from that biller.

Bill Pay FAQs

Bill Pay is a service offered through Amegy Bank Digital Banking. It lets you make online bill payments to just about any company or person. Simply select which person or company you want to pay and choose the date you want the bill paid.

Add a biller, review scheduled payments, check bill reminders, view eBills and more from one easy-to-navigate payment center. You can also choose to view "Bill History" and set "Global Payment Controls" — all using the tabs at the top of the Bill Pay screen.

For even more convenience and control over your finances, Bill Pay lets you select the date you want your biller to receive your payment funds.

Additionally, with eBills, you can elect to receive actual copies of your merchant bills directly through the Bill Pay. You don’t have to wait to receive bills in the mail or log in to your biller's site. eBills are available from hundreds of companies, including major utilities and retailers nationwide, so you can centralize paying bills in one place.

Also, you automatically receive temporary “trial eBill” service from certain payees. With “trial eBills,” try out a payee’s eBills (while still receiving paper invoices) before deciding whether to enroll in paperless eBills from that payee.

Anyone over 18 who has an eligible Amegy Bank personal or business checking and or money market account can enroll for Digital Banking with Bill Pay. The service isn’t available to minors unless the minor is using an account in the minor’s name with a parent or guardian as a co-signor or grantor.

Supported browsers include the current stable and supported releases of Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer. Older versions Internet Explorer 8 users may experience difficulties in printing or with some scroll screens. To resolve printing issues, it’s recommended that you use an alternative browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.

There's no charge to enroll in Bill Pay and no monthly service fee. Business customers will be charged the fees set forth in the fee schedule included in or supplementing their business Online Banking agreement or deposit account agreement.

To expedite payments, certain fees apply, in addition to any fees for your Bill Pay service account. Please refer to the Bill Payment Service Agreement in the Agreement Center for more information about fees.

Also known as a payee, a biller is any company or person you want to pay using the Bill Pay service.

With eBills, you can choose to receive actual copies of select merchant bills directly through Bill Pay. You no longer have to wait to receive your bills in the mail or log in to your biller’s site. eBills are available from hundreds of companies, including major utilities and retailers nationwide.

You also automatically receive temporary “trial eBill” service from certain payees. With “trial eBills” you can try out a payee’s eBills (while still receiving paper invoices) before deciding whether you want to enroll in paperless eBills from that payee.

No, you can sign up for eBills for select merchants directly within Bill Pay. You also automatically receive temporary “trial eBill” service from certain payees. With “trial eBills” you can try out a payee’s eBills (while still receiving paper invoices) before deciding whether you want to enroll in paperless eBills from that payee.

Before you can use Bill Pay in your Mobile Banking app, you must complete the enrollment within Online Banking.

There may be some overlap from the time you sign up for eBills and the time the merchant stops sending a paper statement via US mail. However, after signing up for the service, you will only receive that merchant’s statements through eBill. If you continue to receive paper statements, you’ll want to contact the merchant and request that it no longer send you paper statements.

Merchants offering eBills will appear in the Payment Center with a “Get Bill” icon to the side of the biller’s name. To pay an eBill, click on the icon and follow the on-screen instructions to view and pay your eBill. You can instruct Bill Pay to pay that particular eBill or automatically pay all eBills that come from that biller.

You can set up “Reminders” on billers and have the option to receive email notifications when a bill is due, if a bill has not been paid by the due date and when a payment has been sent. You can also view the status of recent payments in the Payment Center’s “Recent Payments” section and view history on the Payments page.

Payments made through Bill Pay service are processed either electronically, by a “corporate check” that Amegy Bank’s third-party service provider draws against its own account, or by a “laser draft” that the third-party service provider draws against your account with us.

Funds for an electronic payment are deducted from your account when the electronic payment processes. Funds for a corporate check payment are generally deducted from your account on the date you scheduled for your payment, (but can be deducted earlier if the check arrives and is deposited early). Funds for a laser draft payment are deducted from your account when the laser draft is presented to Amegy Bank for payment.

When you’re scheduling a payment, the dynamic payment calendar lets you pick your first available pay date. For electronic payments, the first available pay date in most cases will show as the next business day. For check payments, the next available pay date will typically display two to five business days from the current date.

You can find the last payment date by clicking on the Payee then clicking on Recent Payment Activity within the drop-down box. Payments older than 45 days will show in the history tab.

If a Payee can receive a same-day payment, clicking the box next to Pay it Faster initiates a same day expedited payment with an associated fee. For normal payment scheduling, use the dynamic calendar to select a desired payment date and click Submit Payments.

No. Within Digital Bill Pay, only business days show as available pay dates. If you have a recurring payment that falls on a weekend or federal holiday that payment will automatically be adjusted to the closest previous business day.

For example, if your recurring payment is scheduled for Saturday, it will automatically be rescheduled for the Friday before.

The Scheduled tab will display all pending/scheduled Bill Pay payments. If you need to cancel a Bill Pay payment, simply select the payment and select “Cancel Payment.”

You may change or cancel any payment that is in a “Pending” status up until payment processing begins at 2:00 p.m. MT. You can review your previously scheduled or pending payments in the “Pending Payments” box within the Scheduled tab. For other information regarding canceling payments or stopping payment, please refer to the Bill Payment Service Agreement in the Agreement Center.

You can schedule a payment up to one year in advance.

Go to Global Payment Controls to set a funding account. Note the box Select Account. Select the down arrow and your account options will appear. You may select different funding accounts for different Payees.
