Generally, RDC helps lower costs associated with deposit preparation and delivery. If a company processes checks that tend to be in amounts over $100 and drawn against non-local banks, they might benefit from reduced float and expedited returns.
Anyone within a company who already prepares and/or delivers deposits to the bank can use RDC. The company specifies which employees to set up in the system and their account access level. The optional Dual Control feature in the RDC Treasury service allows one employee to complete a deposit while another employee reviews and approves the deposit before it is submitted to the bank.
Any U.S. dollar checks drawn on banks with valid U.S. Routing and Transit numbers are generally accepted, including personal checks, business checks, postal money orders, Traveler's Checks, and government checks. Non-U.S. dollar checks are not accepted and there are some restrictions on checks listed in the Master Services Agreement (MSA). Remotely Created Checks (RCCs) are not allowed to be deposited based on the bank’s deposit agreement.
